چکیده

Abstract The numerical simulation of the induction heating process can be computationally expensive, especially if ferromagnetic materials are studied. There several analytical models that describe electromagnetic phenomena. However, these very limited by geometry coil and workpiece. Thus, usual method for computing more complex systems is to use finite element solve set equations in multiphysical system, but this easily becomes time consuming. This paper deals with problem solving a coupled - thermal higher computational efficiency. For purpose, semi-analytical modeling strategy proposed, based on an initial computation, followed electromagnetic-thermal problem. usage simplified model restricted simple geometrical features such as flat or curved surfaces great curvature skin depth ratio. Numerical experimental validation show average error between 0.9% 4.1% prediction temperature evolution, reaching greater accuracy than other analyzed commercial softwares. A 3D case double-row large size ball bearing also presented, fully validating proposed approach terms industrial cases.

Analytical Solution for Two-Dimensional Coupled Thermoelastodynamics in a Cylinder

An infinitely long hollow cylinder containing isotropic linear elastic material is considered under the effect of arbitrary boundary stress and thermal condition. The two-dimensional coupled thermoelastodynamic PDEs are specified based on equations of motion and energy equation, which are uncoupled using Nowacki potential functions. The Laplace integral transform and Bessel-Fourier series are u...

A semi-analytical approach to molecular dynamics

Despite numerous computational advances over the last few decades, molecular dynamics still favors explicit (and thus easily-parallelizable) time integrators for large scale numerical simulation. As a consequence, computational efficiency in solving its typically stiff oscillatory equations of motion is hampered by stringent stability requirements on the time step size. In this paper, we presen...

Modelling and Simulation of Induction Heating

This paper deals with the simulation of induction heating of conducting workpieces with a complex shape and topology. We assume that its conductivity is high, which, owing to the skin effect bars the fields from penetrating deep into the conductors. This justifies the use of a simple magnetostatic model that describes the magnetic field outside the workpiece and the inductor. Field concentratin...

Green's Functions for a Rotating Tyre: a Semi- Analytical Approach

Road traffic noise is becoming an increasingly big problem in densely populated areas. One of the main contributions comes from the tyre/road interaction. For the interior noise, to which the occupants of the vehicle are exposed, tyre/road noise is also an important source, especially at lower frequencies. The vibrations of the tyre up to 500 Hz are transmitted via structural transmission paths...
